James Bokovoy
James Bokovoy is a photographer based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, known for his work in travel, event, nature & wildlife photography. His Instagram bio describes him as a "Jesus follower, husband, father, grandfather, world traveler, explorer, photography instructor, and artist". He spent the first six years of his life in Ethiopia, developing a love for travel, adventure and photography. His love of the outdoors grew from a young age as he spent more time in nature than in front of the T.V. National Geographic and Life magazines around his home stoked his sense of adventure and deepened his love of photography. His father further encouraged his interest in photography, eventually gifting him a Nikon F3T camera so he would leave "Dad's cameras" alone. For more than forty years, James has pursued his photography passion, personally and professionally. Since 2008, James has traveled extensively throughout Africa, Asia, and South America exploring and photographing. More recently he formed Rare Planet Expeditions, a travel photography workshop company, focused on sharing this amazing planet with other photographers as they deepen their photographic skills.
