Photographer, filmmaker, writer and creative entrepreneur Matt Payne will share his unique approach to storytelling through photography, filmmaking and writing, sharing the stories behind some of his most recognizable work. The lecture will focus on strategy to approaching story, execution and most importantly, how to get people engaged in your work so that you can make money doing it.
Matt Payne
Matt Payne is a Muster Award–winning and National Geographic–published photographer, as well as an Emmy Award–winning and Telly Award–winning filmmaker and writer whose work centers on honest, cinematic storytelling. As the founder of Matt Payne Media, he has created visual and narrative work for brands, institutions, and publications including The OKC Thunder, The Oklahoma Bombing Memorial and Museum, INTEGRIS, the Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services, the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, Price Business College at the University of Oklahoma, 405 Magazine, and Cadillac. As a writer, Payne has contributed to CBS series including The Defenders and Vegas, and the TNT series Memphis Beat. He serves on the board of deadCenter Film, the Oklahoma Motion Picture Alliance, the Board of Visitors at the University of Oklahoma’s Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication, and the advisory committee at Oklahoma City Community College.
